Quantic Island
A downloadable game for Windows
Story:
2051: Time travel was discovered through the use of wormholes—a type of tunnel or bridge that connects two regions of space-time, allowing travel between them. 2053: The Time Travelers Order (TTO) was founded, an organization of time travelers tasked with maintaining order across various timelines and preserving the temporal flow.
2055: Several TTO agents began disappearing during time travel missions. After extensive research, scientists concluded that a rare quantum anomaly was affecting some wormholes. They named it the QUANTUM ISLAND—a rare phenomenon that blocks wormholes and traps anything that passes through them.
2056: Multiple studies were conducted on the Quantum Islands, but no solid results were obtained. It appears to be a glitch in reality itself, where timelines converge and objects from different eras become entangled.
2058: Isaac Watson was preparing for a mission assigned by the TTO when he was caught in a Quantum Island. Separated from his time-travel device and the three power chips needed to activate it, Isaac has only one choice: to recover the chips and his machine. But the island holds more than natural dangers—a timeless being known as the Guardian of Time has followed him, viewing Isaac as an intruder.
The game begins with the player in control of Isaac. You must explore the island, survive its dangers, evade the relentless Guardian, and find all 3 chips to activate the time machine and return. Good luck.
Update 0.3 Two new game modes added – recommended to play after completing the main story.
Game Mode 1 – Lost Arcade: The mission is the same, but the player spawns deep in the forest with no map and no compass. An extra enemy is added, retro-style sound effects are used, the game becomes pixelated, and the chip locations are completely different.
Game Mode 2 – Blood Mode: AI enemies are much more aggressive. The player now has a much faster sprint, limited by a stamina bar. Many more enemies are added... The rest is a surprise.
Known Bugs (currently): Player may get stuck on stairs at certain angles. Occasional rare audio glitches.
Developed in Unity for the Toddyn GameJam. This is my first 3D game – feel free to report any bugs you find. I really enjoyed developing this concept and will probably keep updating it even after the jam ends.

All in all pretty nice game for a first 3D game made by a single person, though flawed in some aspects. Dunno if it's supposed to be like that but the map for some reason doesn't show where the player is, which in a game like this it makes things much harder considering the whole place is a bit confusing to navigate through with it being like 90% grass and trees. Besides the bugs the dev told about there is another one I found where if you hold the jump button while walking or running you can pretty much nullify the noise of your steps. The monsters' designs are cool and their behaviour is well made, though I'd say their jumpscares are a bit anticlimatic. The lore and world building before the beginning of the game is pretty interesting and I'd personally argue it's the best part, the dev knows how to build a story. I know I'm probably sounding a bit too critic for a first 3D game made by a single person, it's just that the game actually has potential to be pretty good, it just needs more polish.
